Later on Saturday it’s the next installment of the River City Barn Dance at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery. Bluegrass band East of Afton kicks it off at 5 pm, followed at 6:30 pm by Jay Turner & The Swinging Doors, and Andy Vaughan & The Driveline at 8 pm.

On Sunday, October 18 Burrito Riders League play from 2 to 6 pm at Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery.

Colonial Heights native Big Bam Boom (AKA Jan Vaughan) slides back into town from his Myrtle Beach circuit for a couple of shows. He’s at 3rd Street Diner on Thursday, October 8 at 7:30, and the Positive Vibe Cafe on Friday, October 9 at 8 pm. Boom plays country, Caribbean, and Piedmont blues and will have some local musicians in tow.

The Good Ole Boys honky-tonk at Outlaws Bar & Grill in Petersburg on Friday, October 9 – they get going at 9:30 pm.

The Honky Tonk Experience kicks off the weekend at the RumbleSeat Grill in Manakin. That’s on Friday, October 2 at 8:30 pm.

GramFest 2: A Night of Cosmic American Music happens at the Positive Vibe Cafe on Saturday, October 3 at 6 pm. Andy Vaughan & The Driveline, Jay Turner (appearing solo) and Burrito Riders League play sets including the music of Gram Parsons. $5 minimum admission donation to fund the Positive Vibe Foundation.

Back at the Vibe the next morning, Andy & Slim entertain you during Sunday brunch from noon – 2 at the Positive Vibe Cafe.

Later on Sunday, October 4, it’s the Jimmy Dean Music Festival, featuring the Oak Ridge Boys, at the Carpenter Center in Richmond.

Jay Turner and the Swinging Doors play Friday, September 25 at the RumbleSeat Grill in Manakin. Show time is 8 pm.

Andy and the boys will also be at ChesterFest, on Chester’s Village Green, on Saturday, September 26. They play from 1:30 to 2:30 – right after the pie-eating contest!
